my biggest concern is that recent events not only in France but all over will lead to a rise in the far right extremist groups gaining popularity and the further persecution of good honest people of all non-christian faiths. Given the rallies in Germany and the rise of UKIP (thinly veiled racism) into the UK parliament, I worry that diversity and equality will take a nose dive in society.

I think you misunderstood me, and who I am referring to as "the other side." I am not AT ALL saying Nibby is responsible for hate crimes. I am saying that the type of people spewing racist/sexist/Islamophobic shit (the other side I mentioned) should not be just brushed off as "11-year-olds on the internet" since domestic terrorists have been committing hate crimes.
